With daylight yet to break and the destination in sight, I was surprised to see no one in sight! As I got closer, arrows guided me to a side and another side and then I saw this long line of people! The IPL is cricket’s biggest extravaganza. The ICC would be upset with me if I said that the IPL was bigger than the world cup – but in a lot of ways, it is. Look the money on display and I am sure you won’t have a second thought! Read more »

To his credit, Sreesanth is a bowler who is very passionate about his game. With a belief that he is the best and a fierce desire to compete and win, he gives it his all on the cricket field. However, playing a few tests, taking a world cup winning catch and getting a few ODI wickets is all good – but the path to the summit is a long way away. It’s an arduous one that needs a lot more heavy lifting. Read more »

Here’s the point Dildo – Leadership is about staying the course when times are tough. You’ve got the take tough decisions when you have to and not be in sport for just the money. Explaining his rationale for going it alone, Capt Gopinath made it amply clear that he didn’t have a fascination to compete the elections for power or money. With assets to the tune of nearly 50 odd crores, Gopi’s clear that he is not in this for the money. Detailing his vision for the country, he’s got the educated elite of Bangalore rooting for him. Alliances like the third front are extremely opportunistic and nothing more than trying to get a leg up in the on-going political battle. In exactly under 2 weeks, the TRS has pulled the plug on the TDP in Andhra Pradesh, differences apparently on the seat sharing issue. Read more »

It took me a lot of time to actually believe that a team can refueling and changing 4 tires in anything less than 7 seconds, sometimes 6! That’s barely enough time for you to blink. The love for speed and the 300+ kms that cars hit on a straight, coupled with the G forces of up to 4G got me even closer to this sport. Read more »

To me, the real issue on hand is the question of these two events co-existing. Elections are no doubt important and so too is the issue of security. A country of a billion people is suddenly faced with the issue of resources for security – what a paradox! Read more »

God, please save us from this mess. I want to vote and be a good citizen. With so many parties and people around, whom do I vote for in this cesspool? I have no plans of supporting the 3rd front, but how do we ensure someone doesn’t start a 4th front day after? Read more »
