Barrack Obama has been elected the President of United States of America. John McCain called Obama earlier and conceded defeat.

While I watched Obama win today, I recollect some of the points that were being discussed about Obama in the media. Here are some excerpts…

  • Obama is about transcending beyond race, gender, geography etc. Business community may not favour him but the fact is the business community respect him for the way he ran the campaign like a  true champion – totally professional !
  • Obama is the man. He has united the whole of the United States of America.
  • Obama made more people become citizens. He is expected to change the tone of the country – economics, politics etc.
  • The healing touch, education has just begun. There is a long way to go through now. The amount of pigment in your skin does not decide who you are or your greatness.
  • In his biography he had said he is a blank screen where people stared and gave in their opinions. Now he has proven again to the world the audacity of hope.
  • The parents now can say to their children – “If he can, so can you. ” This is the rise and fulfillment of an uncommon dream.

Now as he finished Presidential speech in Chicago, Barrack Obama conveyed that he is the President of those who voted for him and those who did not. He is here to bring about a change.

We hope he indeed brings a change to the United States of America which in turn will trigger positive changes for India.

Obama’s election is not just America’s moment of glory but also a defining moment for the world. The world watches for him to deliver and so is India.

We, at IndiaSpecial, wish him all the very best.

Barack Obama essentially came out of nowhere to beat the Democratic establishment. He went on and conquered doubts about his experience and overcame questions about his race. Eventually, to be elected as the first black president of the white house after a grueling campaign which was two years long.

As the president of US of A, he faces three immediate challenges – Confronting the worst economic conditions since the Great Depression, determining the next steps in two lingering wars, and leading his Democrats, including liberals expecting that the change he promises will come instantly, which is very unlikely to happen in a short time.

On the heels of a campaign in which cash was not a concern at all, Obama must tackle all of those tasks with no room in the budget as the nation heads for a painful and long-lasting recession.

Obama had commented during his campaign that he is against Outsourcing. If outsourcing is cut, then lot of Indians will lose their jobs. This will definitely have implications on the Indian economy.

A wise advice to everyone who has a job at the moment – ‘SAVE MONEY’.

Investments in equity and real estate might go for a toss if the Indian economy slides downwards, but the moolah which you saved will definitely be of help if bad times arrive.

Obama showed Great HOPE during his campaign and has set wrong expectations. But having said all this, I’m hopeful that Obama will bring in change with time. We just need to realize its impossible for his to instantly rectify the mistakes which Bush has done in the past 8 years.

I hope Obama will not just bring change in America, but to the entire world.

I get the feeling that the reverberations of this election will be felt all over the world. Every corner of the world will resonate with, “Yes, we can.” So many dreams – individual and collective – will see the light of day because of the inspiration called Obama.

May many more bloom like him and bring about change – for the better, in all parts of the globe.

I had seen some of the telecasts of President elect Obama’s election campaigns.
In these and also in one of the debates, among his important programs, he emphasized the need of proper and adequate education for every child in USA. In other words a wise investment to build a strong nation with learned citizens.

I am sure that if he is able to bring the change and implement his programs and
thoughts, the future of United States of America will be immensely bright with knowledgeable, disciplined {with ability to control their five senses using the sixth (common) sense and by virtue of their academics.} citizens (presently they start indulging during their teen age which is due to lack of control on their senses and education). God Bless Obama! God Bless United States of America!!
