If You Are An Indian, Behave As One

Tags: , , , , ,

I live in the UK and what I have observed off many of fellow Indians prompted me to express myself.

People travel from India to United Kingdom with an assortment of set goals, aims, ambitions and objectives, no offence to either their move or their assortment which is in accordance to their personal commitments. But the way few of these people’s conduct turns out, their move, surely is devilling and has to deal with the concept of offence.

Instead of making an attempt to realize that we are in the UK and availing its resources to realize our dreams, we tend to nag and brood over UK exploiting DSCN0813 India during their rule.

Pessimism about country’s matters, writing off everything that looks opulent saying “It is made out of India’s heritage and wealth”, being judgmental about all the people of the country, labeling their deeds negatively while following the same life style in a more clumsy fashion makes the situation worse and to top it our demeanor makes it even worse.

With the presumption of hatred from the British, we inculcate the feeling of hatred for the people of the UK. We desire to see the UK being unpopular, while surprisingly hoping that its currency would overcome KWD (The Kuwait Dinar).

In the process of committing to the all the above mentioned acts with a great devotion, we should substantiate that it is resulting in deteriorating the prestige and reputation of all the other Indians in UK who are no way involved.

I now have arrived to a point where I sincerely request that if you are an Indian, if you are proud of your country, if you are a staunch patriot, then realize and understand the beliefs, the culture, the ethics and the morals of India. Try to put them to use which will cease you from getting a bad certificate of conduct for all us Indians.

If our preamble of constitution says that we are a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic, Republic country and if you believe that you hail from such a great country then try to possess some traits that would reflect our country’s greatness irrespective of which part of the world we are in.

Try respecting other nations and their people as it is always meant to be. We should realize that we are here in the UK utilizing its resources, that this country is providing our lively hood and it’s our minimum responsibility to be faithful to the land and not blame the land. If India is blamed because of bad deeds committed by a citizen of India, I am sure you wouldn’t be ok. Would you be?

DIY – Do It Yourself, Could This Be A Zing Thing In India?

Tags: , , , ,

While most of us hate acronyms (count me in too), there is something about “DIY” that I could not stop myself from writing about. DIY – Do It Yourself or Do It Your way can always be a zing thing if you like it.

Answer this – How many of us ever tried to do something at home all by ourselves without the need of professionals.  Trimming those

bushes in garden,  fixing the garden fence, painting a wall at home, tried to fix a leaking tap etc. I see very few hands raising (or rather very few heads nodding). Even I was very bad at doing that or never thought I can do it by myself.

Most of us don’t think of doing these by ourselves due to myriad of professionals available abundantly in India. We always have a the plumber or the mason around the corner available to fix things at a short notice.

Whilst I was away from home overseas, there were few problems at home and in usual way I was trying to search through yellow pages to find professionals. I found few and missed my heartbeat when I heard of the price they were quoting. This amazed me how the common man in this country is able to afford to such costs. This introduced me to Mr DIY, a common friend to all those common people. Come weekend, it’s a common sight to see people fixing things around or making improvements at home calling it as “DIY”.

I started wondering how good it could be to have such things done in India too..Ok ok I heard some of you saying, India has lot of population and getting such things done by a professional would not cost that much. I cannot agree more than with you all on this. It’s a different story in India, but you could consider it as relaxation therapy. This is just another way to find yourself what else you can do in life. Especially for your BPO and ITO professional, it is a good way to de-stress and make weekends interesting. If you are lucky you might lose a few lbs doing this :)

Give it a try. Get of those couches at home or your favorite lounge. I am sure you will feel different in a better way!
